Overview
Gidira is a comprehensive digital business enablement platform built for Nigeria's digital economy. It is designed to help individuals and businesses create, manage, and grow their commercial presence by providing tools to list products, manage customer interactions, and participate in a trusted marketplace. The platform bridges the gap between verified local businesses and customers, streamlining e-commerce and fostering trust.
The challenge
Developing Gidira presented several distinct technical and operational challenges. A major hurdle was integrating a secure and reliable local payment gateway tailored to the regional market to handle transactions seamlessly. Furthermore, facilitating instant communication between vendors and customers required a robust infrastructure for real-time messaging and live notifications. To solve this, we implemented a Laravel Reverb server, which allowed us to maintain stable, low-latency WebSocket connections capable of handling instant alerts, live chats, and high-volume data streams at scale.
